Optimisation of HR & Payroll Processes: Global Project, Local Needs

Ownership changes at Kompania Piwowarska, which owns Tyskie Brewery (Tyskie Browary Książęce), Lech Brewery (Lech Browary Wielkopolski) and Browar Brewery (Browar Dojlidy Białystok), provided the impetus for further steps in the digital transformation of HR. In 2017, following the acquisition of Kompania Piwowarska by Asahi Europe & International, a search was launched for a new solution for HR, time management and payroll. The key challenges of the project were to simplify the IT architecture, reduce costs and improve the user experience while maintaining flexibility and full compliance with local legal and business requirements. 

The aim of the project was to create a single, consistent working environment for employees, managers and the HR department in order to unify access to data such as payslips, payroll calculations and holiday requests for thousands of employees.

The search resulted in the selection of SD Worx SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll, SD Worx SAP Add-on's and SD Worx Time and Workforce Management. The project was entrusted to Success Solutions, a Czech company that has been providing Asahi Group Holdings with services related to the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite since 2019, and SD Worx. Success Solutions was responsible for implementing SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central for data and HR process management. SD Worx SAP Solutions implemented SAP Employee Central Payroll and a number of proprietary solutions to meet the local requirements of Kompania Piwowarska.

The implementation of the system at Kompania Piwowarska is part of a larger HOPS project led by Asahi Europe & International, which was recognised in the SAP Quality Award 2021 competition in the Business Transformation category. The jury appreciated Asahi Europe & International's exemplary approach to all quality principles and best practices in project management, which covered the entire employee lifecycle in a single system across seven countries. 

Effective Time & Workforce Management

The implementation of the system at Kompania Piwowarska also included the implementation of SD Worx Time & Workforce Management Platform solution. Thanks to process automation and built-in control mechanisms, managers reduced the time needed for manual processing and information gathering, allowing them to use it for effective team management. The HR department and company management gained a tool for quickly obtaining up-to-date and accurate data necessary for making key decisions.
